Nashville, Tenn.-based Vanderbilt Health has named Bryan Harris, MD, executive vice president of its shared clinical services division, effective July 1.
Dr. Harris currently serves as associate professor of medicine and executive vice chair for clinical affairs and business development in Vanderbilt Health’s department of medicine. In his new role, he will oversee pharmacy, laboratory services, radiology services and associated clinical service centers, according to a May 13 system news release.
The division supports multiple Vanderbilt Health facilities and services, including Vanderbilt University Hospital, Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, Vanderbilt Health Services, regional hospitals and ambulatory clinics. The division was formed in 2022 and later expanded to include radiology services, decedent affairs and associated clinical service centers.
Dr. Harris most recently served as interim chair of the department of medicine and executive medical director of the medicine patient care center. He also served as associate healthcare epidemiologist, helping guide Vanderbilt Health’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and was chief health system epidemiologist for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Tennessee Valley Healthcare System through 2021.
