UVM Medical Center chooses new CNO

Mary Kate FitzPatrick, DNP, RN, will become CNO of Burlington-based University of Vermont Medical Center on Sept. 21. She will also be a clinical associate professor in the UVM College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

Dr. FitzPatrick was most recently the clinical director for neurosciences and women’s health & neonatal nursing divisions at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. She also has experience leading Delaware’s statewide trauma system as its coordinator and has been an international consultant for trauma and emergency care systems.

Dr. FitzPatrick has a master’s degree in nursing from Widener University and earned her doctor of nursing practice at Vanderbilt University.
