Mr. Cayo has been serving as interim administrator for UT Health Quitman since September while continuing in his role as CEO of UT Health Pittsburg, the release noted.
He assumes his expanded role as CEO of both hospitals effective immediately.
UT Health East Texas is a nine-hospital system based in Tyler.
