Mobile, Ala.-based USA Health named Josh Snow market CEO of its adult hospitals division, overseeing University Hospital and Providence Hospital.

Mr. Snow is currently CEO of University Hospital, according to a Sept. 16 health system news release. In the expanded role, he will oversee both adult hospitals, which are about 8 miles apart.

The integrated approach aims to strengthen the system’s academic and clinical enterprise while improving coordination and efficiency across its hospitals.

“Bringing University Hospital and Providence Hospital together under unified leadership positions us to build on the strengths of both campuses while creating a more coordinated experience for our patients, physicians, staff and community,” USA Health CEO Natalie Fox, DNP, said in the release.

University Hospital will remain focused on specialized, intensive medical care. Providence Hospital will focus on cardiovascular, pulmonary, vascular and surgical services, alongside a growing medicine service line.
