During Dr. McCabe’s tenure, the hospital acquired Community General Hospital in Syracuse and opened the Golisano Children’s Hospital in Rochester, N.Y. He will step down on Jan. 17, 2017.
Steven M. Scott will replace Dr. McCabe on an interim basis. Mr. Scott is equipped with more than 30 years of healthcare industry experience, most recently serving as vice president and COO of Augusta-based Georgia Regents Medical Center.
Upstate University Hospital will soon begin searching for a permanent CEO, according to the report.
