University of Pennsylvania Health Appoints Dr. Gary Gilliland to Lead Personalized Medicine

University of Pennsylvania Health System in Philadelphia announced the appointment of D. Gary Gilliland, MD, as its first vice president for precision medicine.

Most recently, Dr. Gilliland served as senior vice president of Merck Research Laboratories and head of Merck’s oncology franchise. In his new role, Dr. Gilliland will work with the health system’s top leaders to create a national model for the delivery of personalized medicine to patients.
