University of Illinois Hospital and Clinics appoints Michael Zenn CEO: 5 things to know

Chicago-based University of Illinois Hospital and Clinics named Michael Zenn CEO, effective Feb. 1, pending approval from the University of Illinois’ board of trustees.

Here are five things to know:

1. Most recently, Mr. Zenn served as CFO of University of Illinois Hospital and Clinics.

2. As CFO, he restructured the organization’s capital planning process and sponsored the Integrated Information Infrastructure project for the implementation of a new IT platform.

3. He previously served as an engagement partner at Tatum, a national healthcare-focused professional services firm.

4. He also has prior experience working in executive-level roles at a number of healthcare organizations, such as Northwest Community Healthcare and Hospital in Arlington Heights, Ill., and Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Mich.

5. He holds an MBA from Ann Arbor-based University of Michigan.
