University Hospitals taps hospital COO

Brian Adams has been appointed COO of UH Portage Medical Center in Ravenna, Ohio, part of Cleveland-based University Hospitals. 

Mr. Adams recently marked his 20th anniversary with University Hospitals, where he began his career as an occupational therapist providing inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation care for patients recovering from strokes, spinal cord injuries and respiratory conditions requiring ventilator support, according to a June 23 health system news release.

He later held a dual role providing patient care while managing rehabilitation services at UH Bedford (Ohio) Medical Center and UH Richmond Medical Center in Richmond Heights, Ohio, before moving into business development and operations leadership.

Most recently, Mr. Adams served as director of operations and clinical services at UH Portage Medical Center. Robert Naymik succeeded him in that role, the release said.
