Here are four points:
1. Dr. Stamler currently serves as director of the institute, a position he will continue to hold as he takes on the role of president.
2. His expanded role will allow him to focus on continued growth of Harrington Discovery Institute and the larger Harrington Project for Discovery & Development, of which the institute is a part. The institute is an international initiative dedicated to physician-scientists.
3. Dr. Stamler also serves as the Reitman Family Distinguished Chair of Cardiovascular Innovation at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland.
4. He has completed fellowships in cardiovascular and pulmonary medicine at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, both in Boston.
