Scott Trott, vice president of managed care at Chapel Hill, N.C.-based UNC Health, is retiring after more than 30 years with the health system, including more than 11 in his current role, according to an Oct. 3 post on his LinkedIn page.

Mr. Trott was named UNC Health’s vice president of managed care in May 2015 and was the first executive to hold the role, according to his LinkedIn profile. He is responsible for representing all of the system’s hospitals, physician groups, clinically integrated network and other entities in negotiations with commercial, governmental and employer payers, as well as managing operational and other functions associated with those relationships.

He joined UNC Health in July 1996 as a managed care contracting specialist.

“I have been blessed to work with an amazing team at UNC Health, in particular my colleagues within our managed care department, current and past,” he said in his post. “I cannot possibly name every person on our team, but I am fortunate to have had several teammates who have been with me for years — they know who they are and that I could not have hit this milestone without them. Every member of our team is critical to our organization’s success and teammates I’ll leave behind are well prepared to continue our mission.”
