UMass Memorial Health Care selects new VP of government and community relations: 4 notes

Worcester, Mass.-based UMass Memorial Health Care appointed James Leary vice president of government and community relations, effective Aug. 27, according to a Worcester Business Journal report.

Here are four notes:

1. Most recently, Mr. Leary served as vice chancellor for community and government relations at the UMass Medical School in Worcester.

2. He previously served as state representative for the 14th Worcester District.

3. He has worked for two governors, including as chief of staff for Lt. Gov. Timothy Murray.

4. Mr. Leary takes over from Christopher Philbin, who departed from the role in June.
