UHS hires new CFO to oversee 9 Texas medical facilities: 3 things to know

King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services, the parent company of South Texas Health System in Edinburg, has hired John Doyle as a new CFO to oversee nine Texas medical facilities, including six local hospitals, according to The Monitor.

Here are three things to know about Mr. Doyle.

1. Mr. Doyle will serve as a CFO for the UHS Central Region which includes Cornerstone Regional Hospital in Edinburg, Edinburg Children's Hospital, McAllen Heart Hospital, McAllen Medical Center and Edinburg Regional Medical Center and Rehab center. His region also encompasses Doctors Hospital of Laredo, Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center in Eagle Pass and Amarillo-based Northwest Texas Healthcare System.

2. He is slated to oversee CFOs across all the UHS medical facilities in the South Texas region in an effort "to be responsive to industry shifts, ensure quality care and keep costs down," according to the report.

3. Mr. Doyle has more than 20 years of finance experience and previously worked for hospitals in Tennessee, Virginia and Kentucky.
