Here are three things to know about Mr. Gilbert and his new job.
1. He previously worked with UC Health CEO Rick Lofgren, MD.
2. Dr. Lofgren served as vice president for healthcare operations and chief clinical officer at Lexington, Ky.-based UK HealthCare, while Mr. Gilbert was associate dean for administration and finance at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine.
3. Prior to his service at the University of Kentucky, Mr. Gilbert held administrative positions at both the University of Maryland School of Medicine and at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore.
