In this newly created role, Mr. Chornenky and his consulting technology firm, Domelabs AI, will establish an AI strategy for the health system, according to a June 21 news release from UC Davis Health.
He will also oversee initiatives through the AI and Digital Systems Advisory Council as well as lead data-sharing and AI initiatives to ensure UC Davis Health is approaching AI in a safe and ethical way.
Prior to this, Mr. Chornenky served as senior adviser and presidential innovation fellow at the White House. He also worked at UnitedHealth Group’s Optum Health, serving as senior vice president and chief AI officer.
At Optum, he developed an AI governance framework and managed AI applications for clinical and business environments.
