“Over the next several weeks, I will be transitioning to pursue other opportunities,” Mr. Burke told staff in an Oct. 26 message shared with Becker’s. “This was not an easy decision for me, but it is the right time and came after much reflection and conversation with my family.”

He added that he will be working with Dan Moen, senior vice president of hospital operations for Trinity Health of New England, on a transition plan.

Mr. Burke joined Saint Francis Hospital in 2016. He was named president in November 2020 after serving in the position on an interim basis.

Before he was named interim president, he led the clinical and operational support services, as well as productivity management, for the hospital, according to a news release.
