News of his exit comes after Tower Health CEO P. Sue Perrotty shared plans to step down as CEO on Feb. 23 and return to the system’s board of directors. Michael Stern will be promoted to president and CEO.
Mr. Eesley began at Tower Health in November 2021, a Tower Health spokesperson confirmed with Becker’s.
The transition was “planned and expected,” and Mr. Eesley had joined Tower Health in a “second act” after retiring from Chicago-based Northwestern Medicine, Ms. Perrotty said in a Dec. 10 statement shared with Becker’s.
“Mike has been a trusted advisor and phenomenal leader on our team during our turnaround efforts,” Ms. Perrotty said in the statement. “His financial acumen and expertise are unmatched, and we are so grateful that he came out of retirement to help put our organization on a path to profitability.”
