Here are five things to know about Mr. van Marcke.
1. He has worked in healthcare for 15 years.
2. Most recently, he served as vice president and COO of HCA – North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville.
3. He also previously served as COO of Medical Center of Trinity in New Port Richey, Fla., and as associate administrator of The Medical Center of Aurora (Colo.).
4. In his new role, he will replace Karen Frenier, who has served as president of Dr. P. Phillips Hospital as well as Longwood, Fla.-based South Seminole Hospital, according to the Orlando Sentinel. Ms. Frenier will continue her leadership role at South Seminole.
5. Mr. van Marcke will take over his new role April 20.
