The Miriam Hospital appoints new CMO: 4 points

The Miriam Hospital in Providence, R.I., tapped G. Dean Roye, MD, to serve as senior vice president of medical affairs and CMO, effective August 7, according to a Cranston Herald report.

Here are four points:

1. Dr. Roye served as an attending physician for The Miriam Hospital and Providence-based Rhode Island Hospital since 2000. Both hospitals are a part of Providence-based Lifespan.

2. He held numerous leadership positions at Lifespan, including serving as director of general surgery at The Miriam Hospital for the last four years.

3. A laparoscopic and bariatric surgery physician by training, he completed his fellowship at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in Providence.

4. He is also an associate professor of surgery at the Warren Alpert Medical School.
