Mr. Banos will succeed George Hernández Jr., who shared plans to retire last year. Mr. Hernández’s last day will be July 1, according to a May 28 University Health news release.
Prior to his new role, Mr. Banos served as the health system’s executive vice president and COO.
Mr. Banos also served as CEO of Duke Lifepoint Upper Peninsula Health System in Marquette, Mich., and CEO of Superior Health Partners, also in Marquette, Mich.
