Texas hospital names new CEO: 4 things to know

Denton (Texas) Regional Medical Center has named Steven Edgar president and CEO, effective Aug. 22.

Here are four things to know about Mr. Edgar.

1. Most recently, he served as CEO of Wesley Woodlawn Hospital, a 99-bed acute care hospital in Wichita, Kan.

2. During his tenure at Wesley Woodlawn, Mr. Edgar expanded service lines including emergency room, cardiology and surgical services, among other accomplishments, according to Denton Regional.

3. Mr. Edgar also previously was COO and associate administrator of the 760-bed Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

4. Mr. Edgar earned a bachelor’s degree in health science-physical therapy from the University of Missouri in Columbia and a master’s degree in public administration – health administration, from University of Missouri-Kansas City.
