Five things to know:
1. Mr. Scott will lead Texas Health Aetna’s strategy for the health plan, which launched in 2017. In addition, he will head up Aetna’s operations in North Texas and Oklahoma.
2. Prior to taking on this role, Mr. Scott was market head of sales and services for Aetna’s Georgia, Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi markets.
3. Before joining Aetna, he served as vice president of sales and services for individual and commercial Medicare segments at Piedmont WellStar Health Plans, a provider-owned health plan in Atlanta.
4. For more than 11 years, Mr. Scott was also the vice president of sales and services for Aetna subsidiary Coventry Health Care in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.
5. Mr. Scott replaces Jeff Cook, who is leaving to become Aetna’s regional president for Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico.
