Tenet’s Massachusetts market CEO to transition into new role

Jeffrey Welch, CEO of Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare’s Massachusetts market, is leaving for a new position within the Tenet family, according to a Worcester Business Journal report.

Mr. Welch’s new role will involve overseeing five Tenet hospitals in the Miami area. He became Massachusetts market CEO in 2017, overseeing Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester and MetroWest Medical Center with campuses in Framingham and Natick as well as affiliated outpatient healthcare facilities. He served as CEO of Saint Vincent Hospital, while Jeffrey Liebman was CEO of MetroWest’s two campuses. Mr. Liebman will continue in his role.

Prior to serving as leader of the Massachusetts market, he was CEO of Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.) Medical Center. He also has experience serving as CEO of Coral Gables (Fla.) Hospital and COO at Delray Medical Center in Delray Beach, Fla.

Mr. Welch will continue in his current role for two more weeks. Saint Vincent Hospital COO Ava Jo Collins will take over as interim CEO, according to the report.
