Telluride Medical Center selects Karen Winkelmann as CEO

Telluride (Colo.) Medical Center appointed Karen Winkelmann CEO, effective Aug. 12.

Ms. Winkelmann most recently served as CEO at Colorado West Ophthalmology Associates in Montrose. She was previously CEO of two nursing homes in Montrose and Glenwood Springs, Colo.

She is a founding member and past president of the Western Slope Medical Managers Association. She holds a master’s degree in healthcare administration from Colorado State University-Global campus, an online university.

Ms. Winkelmann succeeds John Gardner, who will move into an advisory role with the Telluride Hospital District through the end of the year.
