Sutter Health taps leader for out-of-state mergers, joint ventures

Sacramento, Calif.-based Sutter Health has named Scott Nordlund executive vice president of corporate development and partnerships, effective Jan. 20.

In his new role, Mr. Nordlund will lead the health system’s enterprise corporate development and national partnership strategy outside of California, according to a Jan. 15 Sutter Health news release. 

His responsibilities include mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic affiliations aimed at expanding access, diversifying assets, strengthening service lines and advancing Sutter’s integrated care model.

Mr. Nordlund brings more than 30 years of healthcare leadership experience to the role. He most recently served as executive vice president and chief strategy and growth officer at Phoenix-based Banner Health, where he helped grow the system’s scale through strategic transactions and organic initiatives.

Sutter Health operates 27 hospitals in California and has more than 430 partnerships and collaborations with community partners.
