StoneSprings Hospital Center appoints Matt Mathias CEO: 5 things to know

StoneSprings Hospital Center in Dulles, Va., selected Matt Mathias to serve as CEO, effective Jan. 1, 2019, according to a Virginia Business report.

Here are five things to know:

1. Mr. Mathias most recently served as COO at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center in Houston.

2. He has worked at Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare, the parent company of both StoneSprings and Clear Lake Regional hospitals, for 14 years.

3. He has prior experience in managerial roles at LewisGale Hospital Montgomery in Blacksburg, Va., and LewisGale Alleghany in Covington, Va.

4. Mr. Mathias holds a master’s degree in health administration from Richmond-based Virginia Commonwealth University.

5. He succeeds Lance Jones, who was recently named CEO and market president at Salem, Va.-based LewisGale Regional Health System.
