St. Luke’s CFO, co-president to retire

Duluth, Minn.-based St. Luke’s co-President and CFO Eric Lohn is retiring April 12.

Nicholas Van Deelen, MD, co-president of St. Luke’s, will be promoted April 15 to sole president of St. Luke’s and of Wausau, Wis.-based Aspirus Health’s Minnesota Region following Mr. Lohn’s departure. 

St. Luke’s and Aspirus Health combined to form a 19-hospital system in early March. 

Chris Johnson, vice president of strategy and finance, will also be promoted April 15, to interim COO. 

Mr. Lohn became St. Luke’s CFO in 2015 and was promoted to co-president and CFO in 2021, according to a March 26 news release from the health system.

Mr. Lohn helped land multiple expansion projects and steered the health system through financial difficulties brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.
