Dr. Pate has served as leader of the health system since August 2009. During his tenure, the eight-hospital system has been consistently recognized for improvements in care quality and outcomes.
An internist and lawyer, Dr. Pate previously worked at Texas Medical Center in Houston.
Chris Roth, the health system’s senior vice president and COO, will succeed Dr. Pate in February. Mr. Roth has worked at St. Luke’s since 2007 and has since led St. Luke’s Boise Medical Center and helped integrate multiple clinics, practices and hospitals into the system.
Dr. Pate and Mr. Roth will work together of the next three months to ensure a smooth transition.
