St. Luke's Health Care System CEO to retire next year: 4 things to know

John Strange, president and CEO of Duluth, Minn.-based St. Luke's Health Care System, plans to retire in July 2019.

Here are four things to know:

1. Mr. Strange has served at the helm of the health system for a little over two decades.

2. Previously, he served as St. Luke's Health Care System's vice president of finance and CFO.

3. He came to St. Luke's from Memorial Hospital in Burlington, Wis., where he served as executive vice president.

4. The health system's board of directors has created a transition team to identify Mr. Strange's successor.
