St. Joseph’s Hospital appoints new CMO

Bay Care Health System’s St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, Fla., has named Samir Akach, MD, as its new vice president and chief medical officer, according to a May 16 news release.

Dr. Akach will join St. Joseph’s from HCA Florida JFK Hospital and its JFK North Hospital in Palm Beach where he served as the assistant chief medical officer. 

In his new role at St. Joseph’s, Dr. Akach will be charged with overseeing quality of care across the hospital.
