St. John's CEO to retire in 2016: 6 things to know

Lou Hochheiser, CEO of St. John's Medical Center in Jackson, Wyo., is retiring, according to a Jackson Hole News&Guide report.

Here are six things to know about Mr. Hochheiser and his retirement.

1. Mr. Hochheiser announced his retirement Monday during a board meeting.

2. According to the report, he plans to stay on with the hospital at least through June 30, 2016.

3. Mr. Hochheiser is retiring after what will be a four-year tenure as CEO of St. John's.

4. During his tenure, he has been involved in expanding collaborative efforts with surrounding medical facilities, including Salt Lake City-based University of Utah Health Care and most recently with Pinedale, Wyo.-based Sublette County Rural Health Care District, according to the report. He also has been involved in expanding the community wellness program and expanding hospital staff.

5. Prior to St. John's, Mr. Hochheiser, a former family physician, was chief medical leader for Humana.

6. The hospital hopes to have Mr. Hochheiser's successor in place by June 1, 2016.
