St. Francis Hospital appoints interim CEO: 5 things to know

Columbus, Ga.-based St. Francis Hospital selected Dan Jones to serve as interim CEO, according to a Ledger-Enquirer report.

Here are five things to know:

1. Mr. Jones most recently served as CEO of Abrazo Community Health Network in Phoenix.

2. He has more than 20 years of healthcare leadership experience.

3. He succeeds David Koontz, who announced his resignation late last month.

4. Mr. Jones will lead the hospital, while its parent, Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Health searches for a permanent successor.

5. St. Francis Hospital has faced financial difficulties in recent years. Early in July, Mr. Koontz had announced that the hospital would lay off 55 people and reduce hours for an undetermined number of employees, the report notes.
