SSM Health taps new CIO: 5 things to know

SSM Health, a nonprofit system based in St. Louis, has named Sony Jacob CIO.

Five things to know:

1. Mr. Jacob is responsible for SSM Health’s implementation of comprehensive IT strategy and systems as well as expanding the organization’s internal IT consultancy, according to the system.

2. He previously served as senior vice president and CIO of Albuquerque, N.M.-based Presbyterian Healthcare Services.

3. Mr. Jacob also was senior vice president and interim CIO of Milwaukee-based Aurora Health Care, which has since merged with Downers Grove, Ill.-based Advocate Health Care.

4. He was CIO of private-equity backed organizations before starting his healthcare career.

5. He holds an executive MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill.
