SSM Health Dean Medical Group president to depart: 4 notes

Christopher Sprowl, MD, president of Madison, Wis.-based SSM Health Dean Medical Group, is resigning, effective March 15, a spokesperson from St. Louis-based SSM Health confirmed via email to Becker’s Hospital Review.

“We are grateful for his time and service to our organization. We wish Dr. Sprowl much success in the future,” the spokesperson said in the emailed statement.

Four notes:

1. Dr. Sprowl assumed the role in January 2017.

2. He was previously president and COO of Portland-based Maine Medical Partners.

3. A family medicine physician, he also holds a master’s degree in medical management from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business in Los Angeles.

4. SSM Health Dean Medical Group includes 60 clinics, Madison-based SSM Health Davis Duehr Dean Eye Care, the Dean Health Plan and Navitus Health Solutions, a pharmacy benefits company.
