Silver Hill Hospital names new president

New Canaan, Conn.-based Silver Hill Hospital has appointed John Santopietro, MD, president and medical director, according to New Canaan Patch.

Dr. Santopietro comes from Charlotte, N.C.-based Carolinas HealthCare system where he held various positions including chief clinical officer of behavioral health and chairman of the department of psychiatry. He is a distinguished fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and serves on the board of the American Association of Community Psychiatrists.

“John brings to this position a combination of outstanding abilities as a clinical psychiatrist and an unusual depth of experience, and success, as a leader of psychiatric programs,” said outgoing Silver Hill CEO Sigurd Ackerman, MD. “I have great confidence that as he brings these strengths to Silver Hill Hospital we will continue to flourish.”
