Brett McClain has shared plans to retire as executive vice president and COO of San Diego-based Sharp HealthCare in October after 35 years in healthcare, according to a June 20 LinkedIn post.

Prior to joining Sharp, Mr. McClain served as COO of San Francisco-based Dignity Health. He also served as Dignity’s chief administrative officer.

“Joining Sharp in early 2020, just as COVID-19 emerged, and then leading through the pandemic alongside an exceptional team is something I’ll carry with me always,” the post said. “The consolidation of our regional hospital structure, the launch of the Office of Transformation, and the progress toward a true “One Sharp” model — none of it happens without the people who showed up every single day.”

At the Becker's 11th Annual IT + Revenue Cycle Conference: The Future of AI & Digital Health, taking place September 14–17 in Chicago, healthcare executives and digital leaders from across the country will come together to explore how AI, interoperability, cybersecurity, and revenue cycle innovation are transforming care delivery, strengthening financial performance, and driving the next era of digital health.
