Sharon Hospital names acting president: 4 takeaways

Sharon (Conn.) Hospital appointed Denise George acting president, effective Feb. 4.

1. Ms. George is president of Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, N.Y., and senior vice president of Lagrangeville, N.Y.-based Health Quest, parent of both Sharon and Northern Dutchess hospitals.

2. She joined Health Quest in 1999, and has served in several leadership roles, including as vice president of clinical services and chief nursing officer for Northern Dutchess Hospital.

3. She succeeds Peter Cordeau, who is taking over as president of Norwalk (Conn.) Hospital, part of Danbury, Conn.-based Western Connecticut Health Network.

4. Health Quest and Western Connecticut Health Network plan to merge in spring 2019.
