Sentara Obici Hospital taps new chief nursing exec: 5 points

Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, Va., named Stephanie Jackson, DNP, chief nurse executive, effective June 24, according to a Suffolk News-Herald report.

Five points:

1. Dr. Jackson currently serves as a director of patient care services at Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, Va.

2. She previously worked at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in several management roles, including nurse manager and director of nursing.

3. She serves as Sentara executive sponsor for the clinical appropriateness pressure injury initiative across all of the Norfolk-based health system’s 12 hospitals.

4. Dr. Jackson earned her doctorate in nursing practice from Charlottesville-based University of Virginia.

5. She succeeds Phyllis Stoneburner, who is retiring.
