SCL Health appoints Geri Towndrow CNO

Denver-based SCL Health has appointed Geri Towndrow, RN, a longtime nursing executive, as its first system CNO.

Here are six things to know about Ms.Towndrow.

1. Ms. Towndrow has been with SCL Health since November 2011.

2. She previously served as vice president and CNO at Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge, Colo.

3. While she was at Lutheran Medical Center, she introduced a number of innovations and improvements that have impacted quality, according to SCL Health.

4. Ms. Towndrow has more than three decades of nursing leadership experience.

5. Prior to joining SCL Health, she served in executive nursing roles at Methodist Hospital in Sacramento, Calif., Mercy Hospital Folsom (Calif.) and Providence Medford (Ore.) Medical Center.

6. She also formerly served as administrative director of Penrose Community Hospital/ Penrose-St. Francis Health Services in Colorado Springs, according to SCL Health.
