Here are five things to know.
1. As chair of GIA, Mr. Knecht will support and interact with advancement professionals from the country’s top medical schools and teaching hospitals in five disciplines: alumni relations, communications, development, marketing and public affairs.
2. Mr. Knecht boasts nearly 30 years of experience in healthcare strategy, marketing and communications.
3. Before joining RWJBarnabas in 2016, he served as corporate vice president of communications and community relations at New Brunswick, N.J.-based Robert Wood Johnson Health System
4. Mr. Knecht currently chairs the board of trustees for the Ronald McDonald House of Central and Northern New Jersey and serves on the board of New Brunswick Tomorrow.
5. He earned a BA degree in economics from Temple University, where he also earned an MBA with a concentration in health administration.
