Ronald Dean appointed CEO of South Georgia Medical Center

The Hospital Authority of Valdosta & Lowndes County, Ga., named Ronald E. Dean CEO, who will oversee South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, its campuses and affiliates.

Mr. Dean comes to South Georgia Medical Center from Troy (Ala.) Regional Medical Center, where he served as CEO. He is expected to assume his new role within the next 90 days. He has 36 years of healthcare experience and previously worked at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, where he rose to the position of vice president of operations.

Mr. Dean also has served in several roles within the Alabama Hospital Association, including chairman of the Southeast Hospital Council and chairman of the State Legislative Committee.

He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and holds an MBA from Troy University.
