Rideout Health names new CEO: 3 things to know

Gino Patrizio, COO of Marysville, Calif.-based Rideout Health, will be promoted to CEO this fall, according to the Appeal-Democrat.

Here are three things to know about Mr. Patrizio.

1. He is the eventual replacement for Robert E. "Bob" Chason, who took over on an interim basis when former CEO Theresa Hamilton left a year ago. Mr. Chason will resume his retirement once Mr. Patrizio takes over, likely sometime next month, according to the report. In the interim, Mr. Patrizio immediately takes on the role of assistant CEO as Mr. Chason transitions out of his position.

2. Mr. Patrizio will take over at a time when the $245 million expansion of Rideout Memorial Hospital in Maryville nears completion. Hospital officials have also acknowledged a need to improve the healthcare facility's image in the community, the report notes.

3. Mr. Patrizio became COO in July 2014 after serving as CEO of Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar, Calif. He has also worked for Health Management Associates hospitals in Florida.
