Rhode Island state hospital names chief medical officer

Cranston, R.I.-based Eleanor Slater Hospital named Katharine Woods, MS, DO, chief medical officer, the Providence Journal reported April 4.

Dr. Woods stepped into the role on April 3. She took over from Sue Ferranti, DO, who served as interim chief medical officer after the sudden departure of Elinore McCance-Katz, MD. 

Previously, Dr. Woods served as chief medical officer of Phoenix-based Arizona State Hospital.
