Rady Children’s names inaugural wellness chair

Michael Weiss, DO, vice president of population health for Rady Children’s Health in Orange County (Calif.), has been named the Clavis Foundation Chair for Wellness, according to a Jan. 15 news release. 

The role marks the first-ever endowed chair at Rady Children’s Health in Orange County. 

As chair, Dr. Weiss will expand the organization’s wellness initiatives, including launching an integrative medicine program and aligning services to support pediatric health in clinical, school-based and community settings, according to the release. 

Dr. Weiss has more than 30 years of experience in primary care and population health leadership. He oversees a clinical program that serves more than 140,000 children, serves on the California Office of Health Care Affordability Advisory Board, and is a professor at the UC Irvine School of Medicine.
