The health system said Mr. Gracey resigned “due to other professional and personal commitments.” In addition to his role as board chairman, he also served as a member of Quorum’s compensation and governance and nominating committees.

The board reportedly elected Terry Rappuhn as Mr. Gracey’s replacement. Ms. Rappuhn joined Quorum’s board of directors in September 2017. She previously served as a chair of the health system’s audit and compliance committee and as a member of the governance and nominating committee.

Along with her role on Quorum’s board of directors, Ms. Rappuhn also serves as director of Akorn Pharmaceuticals in Lake Forest, Ill.
