Providence taps COO of clinical network

Providence Clinical Network has named Sam Bajaj COO, effective March 31. 

Mr. Bajaj will oversee strategic initiatives to strengthen ambulatory care services, with a focus on advancing population health, increasing affordability, and improving the patient and clinical experience, according to a news release. 

Mr. Bajaj brings more than 17 years of healthcare leadership experience to the position. He most recently served as COO of Optum California, where he oversaw a $7 billion portfolio and led efforts to integrate operations across six legacy care-delivery organizations. Before that, he was COO of hospital and health plan operations for Kaiser Permanente’s San Jose, Calif., region.
