Providence Oregon taps chief executive

Jennifer Burrows, RN, was named chief executive of Providence Oregon, effective May 6, according to a message to staff from Joel Gilbertson, chief executive of the Providence Central Division.

Ms. Burrows, who is chief executive of Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, Ore., and chief executive for the Oregon West division, brings more than three decades of healthcare experience to the role, according to the message, which was shared with Becker’s on April 23. She will succeed William Olson, who will be retiring at the end of this year. 

Previously, Ms. Burrows served as chief nursing officer for St. Vincent Medical Center and for Providence Oregon.

Providence Oregon includes eight hospitals and is part of Renton, Wash.-based Providence.
