President of Atrium Medical Center retires, Michael Uhl named successor

Middletown, Ohio-based Atrium Medical Center’s president Carol Turner retired at the end of 2016. The medical center named Michael Uhl her successor effective Jan. 1, according to a hospital release.

Here are five things to know about the transition.

1. As president, Mr. Uhl oversees the hospital’s strategic decisions and patient care for residents in Butler and Warren counties in Ohio and surrounding areas.

 

2. He previously served as COO of Atrium since the beginning of 2016. From 2014 to the beginning of this year, Mr. Uhl was system vice president of operations innovation for Dayton, Ohio-based Premier Health, Atrium’s parent system.

 

3. He spent almost 10 years at New York-based Deloitte Consulting advising healthcare clients on financial and operations process enhancements.

 

4. Mr. Uhl began his healthcare career at Atrium where he would later become the nurse manager of the emergency department.   

5. Mr. Uhl earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Cincinnati. He also earned two master’s degrees, one in business administration from Tempe, Ariz.-based University of Phoenix and one in nursing administration from Xavier University in Cincinnati.
