Pittsburgh Mercy Health System selects new CEO: 5 things to know

Pittsburgh Mercy Health System named Antonio Beltran president and CEO, effective Jan. 7, 2019.

Here are five things to know:

1. Mr. Beltran is currently Livonia, Mich.-based Trinity Health’s vice president for safety net transformation.

2. He has served in his current role since 2016, prior to which he was the executive director of the Lake County Health Department in Chicago.

3. He was also the first deputy commissioner for the Chicago Department of Public Health.

4. Mr. Beltran is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and American Public Health Association and has served on the CDC’s Public Health-Health Care Collaboration Workgroup.

5. He succeeds Sister Susan Welsh, who is retiring.
