Piedmont taps Dr. Lacy Knight as chief health information officer: 3 things to know

Atlanta-based Piedmont Healthcare has selected Lacy A. Knight, MD, to serve as chief health information officer.

Three things to know:

1. In his new role, Dr. Knight will be responsible for the health system’s Epic EHR and serve as a link between Piedmont’s clinical and information service teams.

2. He most recently was chief medical information executive for the north region and physician director of health informatics at Chicago-based Northwestern Medicine. 

3. Dr. Knight has a master’s degree in medical informatics from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., as well as bachelor’s and medical degrees from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine.
