Penn State Health names Dr. Safa Farzin VP for medical affairs and staff development

Hershey, Pa.-based Penn State Health has selected Safa Farzin, MD, to serve as vice president for medical affairs and staff development, effective Dec. 23. 

Dr. Farzin will be responsible for the development and recruitment of medical staff for Enola, Pa.-based Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center, slated to open in 2021. His other responsibilities will include overseeing the health system's relationships with private practice physicians.

A physician-executive, Dr. Farzin has served as CEO of Medical Group of Pennsylvania, vice president of Pulmonary Critical Care Medical Associates and director of critical care medicine at Harrisburg-based UPMC Pinnacle Health.
